DAVE HOOPER Singer/ Songwriter

Dave Hooper began his musical career at the age of 17, playing bass in a surf band. Over the course of several decades, he has embraced the styles of folk, country, blues, pop, bluegrass, and rockabilly. An award-winning songwriter, Dave has penned more than one hundred songs and released twelve albums of original material. His latest CD, “Heart Shadows”, is a collaboration with mandolinist extraordinaire Phil Lawrence.

Dave has performed all across the United States and Europe, and has appeared onstage at both the Enschede Folk Festival in Holland and the Kerrvile Folk Festival in Texas, and was the musical guest on Jim Hightower’s nationally syndicated radio show.

Originally from Los Angeles, Dave has lived in Nashville, Austin, and Amsterdam, and now resides in Santa Rosa. Dave studied music at Sonoma State University, and taught the first History of Rock class there. He has worked in community radio, and is a published author with two novels to his credit (Avalon Summer, and Restless Seasons).

Dave Hooper specializes in story songs in the Americana tradition, and accompanies himself on guitar and harmonica.
