Al Haas and Ira Marlowe

Al Haas and Ira Marlowe

Ira Marlowe has been called “a songwriter’s songwriter.” He’s taught his craft at UC Berkeley and seen his music featured in places ranging from NPR to the Dr. Demento show, as well as four San Francisco Mime Troupe (political theatre) productions.  His warm voice and smart, literate lyrics have earned him many awards and one crappy record deal.  Drawing comparisons that range from Tom Waits to James Taylor to Elvis Costello, there’s nothing run-of-the-mill here.

Al Haas is a Sonoma County singer-songwriter who is inspired by the humor and heartache of the human condition. With influences including John Prine, Loudon Wainwright III and Jackson Browne, his songs draw from his youth, his travels in Italy, the current political climate, and the challenges of work and family life. He's developed a strong loyal following based on his solo performances at house concerts as well as years of playing in local bands "Late For Supper" and "La Guinguette". His warmth, humor, and gifts as a musical storyteller make him a delight to audiences wherever he goes.
