Jubilee Klezmer Ensemble

Klezmer music dates back to at least the 16th century when the first klezmer guild was established in Prague.

This spirited, jubilant and haunting music was inspired by old Jewish wedding melodies, ancient cantorial liturgical songs and prayers, Roma or so-called Gypsy music, folk melodies from a variety of countries of Eastern Europe and the Bosphorus, including Moldava, Rumania, Turkey, Hungary, Ukraine, Poland, Belarus, Greece and others.

Klezmer music speaks to the heart and the spirit. It makes you want to cry, laugh, dance and jump for joy all at once.
