Al Haas
Al Haas picked up his first guitar at a pawn shop when he was 14 and
hasn't stopped playing since. Inspired by Petaluma's own Larry Potts and
James K, he started writing his own songs five years ago. He mixes his
originals with jazz, swing and folk songs. Finding humor in modern times is
a favorite theme in his songwriting.
Al played for a number of years with a swing band "Late For Supper". You
might have heard them at the Sonoma County Fair, The Harvest Festival or
the Petaluma Farmer's Market.
Never shy to ask for help, he often performs with backup musicians,
including Aaron, his son and Katie, his wife of 23 years .
(Actually she's older than that, but they've been married for 23 years.)"
