Al Haas

Gary Grubb

Al Haas picked up his first guitar at a pawn shop when he was 14 and hasn't stopped playing since. Inspired by Petaluma's own Larry Potts and James K, he started writing his own songs five years ago. He mixes his originals with jazz, swing and folk songs. Finding humor in modern times is a favorite theme in his songwriting.

Al played for a number of years with a swing band "Late For Supper". You might have heard them at the Sonoma County Fair, The Harvest Festival or the Petaluma Farmer's Market.

Never shy to ask for help, he often performs with backup musicians, including Aaron, his 18 year old son and Katie, his wife of 22 years . (Actually she's older than that, but they've been married for 22 years.)"

Gary Grubb is a talented and versatile guitarist and vocalist with over 40 years of experience. His unique flair for adding new dimensions to the music of those he accompanies makes him a popular collaborator for many local performers.

Gary played guitar professionally for many years in California, Nevada and across the Midwest. In 1985, following a successful five year gig as band leader for Country Rush at N California’s largest nightspot, Gary decided to leave the music business to pursue a career in software development and to raise his two children. With the kids off to college, Gary has returned to his first love; music. He performs and does session work with a number of local artists. Gary is currently employed by Agilent Technologies.
