Aqus Trad Seisuin
Petaluma Irish Music

QUALIFIED PLAYERS SOUGHT
We have created an authentic traditional pub seisuin in Petaluma
where seisiun-seekers can hear or play “comhaltas ceoltoiri” level traditional music in our area.
Local Irish players of experience are sought to form a core.  All other comers can learn what to expect, and how they can learn Irish.  After a gathering set, trad music will rule.

ALL PETALUMA AREA  “LEARNERS” INVITED
Once the seisiun players can get themselves started, all others --- beginners through classicists ---- can browse ways to learn Irish playing by ear.  The tunes? The etiquette? Home practice? Local gatherings?

While at Aqus, you can get our O’Petaluma Playlist --- the 39 the most-played Irish tunes of local Bay Area seisiuns. Irish singers may offer to join future seisiun evenings, within the trad seisiun norms.

Memory rules! A sheet is available suggesting ways to fearlessly learn these melodies by ear --- by listening to internet sites, CD's, or by playing-along live in a "ceoiltais" (traditional fearless learning session for all beginners). Sheet music is available, but is NOT used in a trad seisiun, and NOT recommended to replace memorizing the tunes and playing them by ear.
