INFO FOR BANDS PLAYING AT AQUS CAFE

Please join our newsletter at www.aquscafe.com and hook up with us at www.facebook.com/aqus.petaluma.

All booking is done online using this form. Please do not drop CDs or other promotional materials at the cafe.

Aqus provides a professional-level PA system with up to 16 inputs for instruments and microphones.  The system is tuned to the house, so bands are highly encouraged to use the installed PA system.  You will have to bring your own microphones, stands and cables. If you do want to use the house system it is important that you familiarize yourself with it before hand.

Aqus does not provide a sound person to administer the PA, so bands are expected to have someone who understands and can balance the sound for the band.  If you have any questions regarding the PA system, please email williamjsell@gmail.com

Our Cafe is in a residential neighborhood so we ask our customes and performers not to hang out too long outside after hours...we need to keep our music license.

Artists are asked to keep the volume below 90db. Our aim for the music in the cafe is to keep it at a level where people can still have a consersation while the music is playing. We are not a club or concert hall.

Music is Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday Nights. 7 - 9pm.

Saturday Mornings 10:30 - 12:30.

Sunday afternoon Jazz 1 - 3:30.

John Crowley books Saturday mornings (john@aquscafe.com)
Mark Benanti handles all other times (mark@aquscafe.com)

All shows are free and all ages.

Groups usually show up about an hour ahead of time to set up

Musicians are paid in tips and food/drink. It's a good idea for the musicians to organize someone to pass the tip jar around.

On Saturday mornings musicians get a meal and a drink. For all other gigs bands get $10 food/drink credit per member, up to 6 members. All food/drink are 50% off if credit gets used up.

VOLUME
This is extremely important at Aqus as we have residential neighbors. THEY ARE OUR PRIME CONCERN. Please don't make us ask you to turn down. It's a small/loud room, be courtious to or neighbors and our patrons. The Aqus employee is ALWAYS right. If we ask you to turn down, you are too loud. We will not tolerate music that we believe is too loud. Keep the volume down and help us keep our doors open as one of the coolest places around for live music.

SHOWS ON OFF NIGHTS & AFTER HOURS
Sunday - Wednesday. For these shows the band rents the cafe for $100. This rents you the cafe for up to 3 hours - 2 hours for the show, 1 hour set up/tear down. You also get an Aqus employee to work the bar selling beer/wine/espresso/pastries. Generally the kitchen is closed on these nights, but arrangements can be made for it to be open if the band thinks they can bring a dinner crowd. Musicians do not get any food/drink benefits on these nights. Bands set a cover charge and keep all procedes. Bands can also collect tips on these nights. Aqus makes money by selling beer/wine etc. Bands are responsible for providing someone to collect the cover charge.
